Informação sobre produto
4-Chloroquinoline 1-oxide is a plant disease acceptor that can be used to control bacterial diseases. It is an insoluble, white crystalline solid at room temperature with a chloroform-like odor. 4-Chloroquinoline 1-oxide has been shown to inhibit the growth of Streptococcus aureus and other bacteria. 4-Chloroquinoline 1-oxide reacts with chloride ions in the cell wall to form hydroxamic acids and reactive intermediates, which react with nucleophilic sites on proteins and enzymes to form covalent bonds. This reaction mechanism explains its bactericidal activity. The reaction between chloride ions and 4-chloroquinoline 1-oxide produces chloramines as byproducts, which are toxic to humans.
