(R)-4-Methoxydalbergione is a potent inhibitor of glycerol kinase, an enzyme that plays a critical role in energy metabolism. This compound is an analog of indirubin, a natural product found in Chinese herbal medicine. (R)-4-Methoxydalbergione has been shown to induce apoptosis in cancer cells and inhibit the growth of tumors in animal models. It has also been found to be effective against a variety of kinases involved in cancer cell proliferation and survival, making it a promising candidate for anticancer therapy. Additionally, (R)-4-Methoxydalbergione has been detected in human urine samples, suggesting that it may have potential as a diagnostic marker for certain types of cancer.
