Descrição:
Benzofuran-2,3-dione is a protonated benzofuran derivative with the chemical formula C10H12O2. It is an agent that has been shown to have anti-cancer properties. Benzofuran-2,3-dione has been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth by targeting mitochondrial function and reactive oxygen species (ROS) production. This agent also inhibits the synthesis of fatty acids in bacteria and mitochondria, which may be due to its interaction with the fatty acid synthase enzyme. This drug has also been shown to have pharmacokinetic properties that are similar to those of other benzofurans such as boron compounds, hydrocarbons, and antibiotics.
