Informação sobre produto
Menthol β-D-glucuronide is a metabolite of menthol that is produced by the hydrolysis of the glucuronide moiety from menthol. It is a competitive inhibitor of protein synthesis in vitro and has been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth. The metabolic rate and detection sensitivity of this compound were determined using solid phase microextraction with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry detection. This method was used to measure the concentration of menthol β-D-glucuronide in human liver samples, as well as in vitro assays of human liver cells. Clinical studies have been conducted on humans, which showed that menthol β-D-glucuronide had no effect on protein synthesis or other enzymatic activities. The chemical ionization method was also used to detect and quantify menthol β-D-glucuronide in human urine samples.
