Isoagarotetrol is a chemical compound that belongs to the group of volatile oils. It has been shown to inhibit the production of reactive oxygen species, which causes cell damage and inflammation in tissues. Isoagarotetrol also prevents lipid peroxidation and reduces the production of nitric oxide, both of which are involved in the inflammatory process. Isoagarotetrol has been shown to have neuroprotective effects through its inhibition of oxidative stress-induced neuronal death. Isoagarotetrol exhibits pharmacokinetic properties that are dependent on the concentration used and is active against PC12 cells when administered at high concentrations.
