5-o-Methyllicoricidin is a flavonoid that has been shown to have anti-fungal activity. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of human kidney cells in vitro and in vivo, as well as protease activity. 5-o-Methyllicoricidin also has a matrix effect on chronic kidney disease and can be used for the treatment of oral pathogens. 5-o-Methyllicoricidin activates epithelial mesenchymal cells and may be useful in locomotor activity disorders such as Parkinson's Disease. There are no known drug interactions with this compound.
