CBB1007 and its derivatives are being investigated as possible inhibitors of protein modification or as anticancer agents. In addition, CBB1007 has been shown to have anti-proliferative effects on cultured cells by inhibiting growth factor signaling pathways. This drug also inhibits tumor cell growth by inducing hypertrophy in the cells and up-regulating genes involved in cell cycle arrest.
