Descrição:IDH889 is a novel anticancer drug that has shown clinical activity in patients with recurrent glioblastoma who have been previously treated with surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. IDH889 is an inhibitor of the enzyme 2-hydroxyglutarate dehydrogenase, which is involved in the production of 2-hydroxyglutarate (2HG), a metabolite that causes cancer cells to grow and divide. It has been shown to bind tightly to the active site of the enzyme and inhibit its activity. IDH889 inhibits cellular proliferation and induces apoptosis in glioma cells by inhibiting 2HG synthesis, leading to tumor regression.
