Descrição:Rovazolac is an investigational drug in the class of hydrophobic pharmaceuticals. It has a profile that is competitive and safety profile that is good. This agent inhibits the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as IL-6, IL-8, and TNF-α. Rovazolac binds to intracellular targets, such as nuclear factor kappa B (NFκB) and protein kinase C (PKC), which are involved in the inflammatory response. The mechanism of action involves ligand binding to a specific receptor site on the target cell membrane. Binding results in activation of G proteins and subsequent cellular signaling pathways that lead to inhibition of cytokine production. Rovazolac has been shown to be effective against cutaneous inflammation when administered topically and may block LTB4 receptors at cutaneous sites.
