It is an inhibitor of the receptor tyrosine kinase ALK2 and can be used as a research tool in cell biology, pharmacology, and life sciences. ALK2-IN-2 has been shown to be an antagonist of the T cell receptor (TCR) in vitro and in vivo, inhibiting T cell proliferation. This inhibition is due to its ability to inhibit the interaction between the TCR and its ligand CD3e on the surface of T cells. ALK2-IN-2 also inhibits ion channels such as transient receptor potential channel M8 (TRPM8). The CAS number for this compound is 2254409-25-9.
