Beloranib hemioxalate is a potent inhibitor of the enzyme kinase that plays a crucial role in protein regulation. It is an analog of oxytocin, a hormone involved in human reproductive and social behaviors. Beloranib hemioxalate has been shown to induce apoptosis (programmed cell death) in cancer cells, making it a promising anticancer agent. It inhibits tumor growth by arresting the cell cycle at the G2/M phase and suppressing angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels). Beloranib hemioxalate has been tested on Chinese hamster ovary cells and found to be effective against various types of cancer cells. In clinical trials, it has demonstrated positive results in reducing body weight and improving glucose control in obese patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
