It has been shown to have synergistic effects with other antitussives, such as guaifenesin. 1-(2-Aminoethyl)pyrrolidine also inhibits the growth of cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. The anticancer activity of this drug is due to its ability to inhibit the production of hydrogen peroxide by various cell types and its interaction with DNA bases that leads to changes in the structure of DNA.
