Abz-Arg-Val-Lys-Arg-Gly-Leu-Ala-m-nitro-Tyr-Asp-OH trifluoroacetate salt (ABZKAA) is a small molecule that inhibits the influenza virus by binding to the receptor binding domain of the hemagglutinin protein. ABZKAA has been shown to inhibit atherosclerotic lesion growth in mice, and also binds to activated carboxy terminal sites on proteins, which are involved in many cellular processes such as cell growth and apoptosis. This drug has been shown to have toxicity profiles with no apparent side effects in animal studies and is not toxic for healthy cells. ABZKAA binds to proteases such as furin and actin filaments, which are enzyme substrates involved in protein synthesis.
