5-Amino-1-ethylpyrazole is a heterocyclic compound that is quantified as the 5-aminoethylpyrazole. It is found in nature as an intermediate in the biosynthesis of terpineol and phthalic acid. The kinetic, thermodynamic, and structural properties of 5-amino-1-ethylpyrazole have been studied extensively. The chloride ion forms a complex with this molecule, which may be the reason for its bactericidal properties. It has also been found to inhibit caffeine’s inhibition of cyclohexanol’s oxidation by cytochrome P450. 5-Amino-1-ethylpyrazole can also bind to DNA and RNA, as well as proteins and enzymes such as α-pinene dione reductase.
5-Amino-1-ethylpyrazole is an important intermediate in the synthesis of various pharmaceutical compounds such as spathulenol
