2-Amino-5-bromobenzoic acid is a chemical compound that is used to synthesize other pharmaceuticals. It has been shown to have potent antiinflammatory activity and inhibit the growth of certain types of cancer cells. 2-Amino-5-bromobenzoic acid also has antiviral properties, and it inhibits the replication of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) in cell culture. The absorption of this drug is dependent on pH levels, with higher concentrations found in acidic environments.
