2-Anilinoethanol is a diol that is used in the synthesis of sodium salts. It can be synthesized from amines and acidic copper complexes, which are formed by the reaction of copper chloride with hydrochloric acid. In this reaction, two molecules of 2-anilinoethanol are produced for every molecule of copper chloride consumed. The thermodynamic data for this reaction is shown below:
