3-Amino-5,5-diphenylimidazolidine-2,4-dione (DPD) is a five-membered heterocyclic compound that has been shown to be pharmacologically active in research. It has the ability to form hydrogen bonds and dihedral angles with other molecules. 3-Amino-5,5-diphenylimidazolidine-2,4-dione has been shown to have pharmacological properties and can crystallize with hydantoin. The phenyl groups of DPD are responsible for its spectral properties. DPD also exhibits rotational isomerism by rotating around the double bond between the two phenyl groups.
