Aloenin is a natural compound that belongs to the class of phenolic acids. It is found in various plant families, including Asteraceae and Polygonaceae. Aloenin inhibits the production of inflammatory cytokines by inhibiting cyclooxygenase activity. It also has antioxidant properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the activity of protein kinase C. Aloenin has been shown to be effective on chronic kidney disease patients with high levels of creatinine and potassium in their blood. This drug also shows anti-inflammatory effects in diabetic patients and improves glycemic control by lowering blood glucose levels.
