4-[(1S)-2-Amino-1-Hydroxy-Ethyl]Benzene-1,2-Diol is an organic compound with the chemical formula C6H8N2O3. It is a monohydrate of 4-(hydroxymethyl)benzene-1,2-diol. This compound is available as a white powder and has been used in the past for research purposes. 4-[(1S)-2-Amino-1-Hydroxy-Ethyl]Benzene-1,2-Diol has shown to be a potent blocker of cardiac Na+ channels and interacts with metoprolol to produce additive effects on heart rate and cardiac output. This drug also has properties that are consistent with being an orthorhombic crystal form with an isopropyl group on one end. The molecular weight calculated by infrared spectroscopy is found to be 217.06 g/mol.
