• Descrição: Cis-2-Amino-cyclopentanol Hydrochloride is an oxazoline that has been shown to be a potent sarin and VX poison. It can be used as an antidote in the event of poisoning with these compounds, but it must be administered quickly, before the nerve agent takes effect. Cis-2-Amino-cyclopentanol Hydrochloride is synthesized by reacting thionyl chloride with 2-(1H) cyclopentanol. Cis-2-Amino-cyclopentanol Hydrochloride may also be useful for the synthesis of other oxazolines. The hydrolysis of cis-2-Amino-cyclopentanol Hydrochloride to form an N--N bond leads to a series of hydrolytic products, including chloride ion, which may lead to anticholinesterase activity.
