2-Amino-4-(3-chloropropoxy)-5-methoxybenzonitrile is a quinazoline derivative with anti-cancer properties. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro, and to cause apoptosis in some cell lines. 2-Amino-4-(3-chloropropoxy)-5-methoxybenzonitrile is also able to induce the accumulation of glutathione reductase in cells, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the activity of the enzyme nitric oxide synthase. The compound was also found to have antitumor activity against refluxing tumor cells, when used at concentrations from 0.1 mM to 10 mM. This property may be due to its ability to inhibit DNA synthesis or protein synthesis by binding selectively with human calf thymus dna or bacterial dna gyrase or topoisomerase II. 2-Amino-4
