4-(Aminomethyl)aniline dihydrochloride (4-AMAD) is a molecule that has been used in cancer research. It has been shown to induce apoptosis of cancer cells and may be useful in the treatment of cervical cancer. 4-AMAD can be used as a magnetic resonance imaging agent for the diagnosis of prostate cancer, and has synergistic effects when combined with paclitaxel, which is an anticancer drug. This molecule also induces cell death by inhibiting DNA synthesis and RNA transcription. 4-AMAD also possesses anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
