2-Aminopyridine-3-boronic acid pinacol ester is a nicotinamide analogue that has been investigated as a potential anticancer drug. This compound was found to be effective in inhibiting the growth of colon cancer cells and mouse tumor cells, with significant effects on cell cycle progression. 2-Aminopyridine-3-boronic acid pinacol ester inhibits the mutant isoforms of the enzyme protein kinase C (PKC) by binding to its catalytic domain. PKC is involved in the regulation of cell division, so this inhibition may have anticancer effects.
