Descrição:Alprenolol is a beta-adrenergic blocker that is used to treat high blood pressure and other cardiovascular disorders. It selectively acts on the beta-2 receptors in the heart, which results in decreased sympathetic tone and decreased vascular resistance. Alprenolol has been shown to reduce the incidence of myocardial infarction and congestive heart failure in patients with hypertension. This drug also reduces nasal congestion by acting on alpha-adrenergic receptors in the nose, which may be helpful for people with chronic sinusitis or allergic rhinitis.
