• Descrição: Almoxatone is a pyrazole derivative that inhibits the enzyme catalysis of monoamine oxidase A and B. It has an inhibitory effect on dopamine and norepinephrine, which are neurotransmitters in the central nervous system. Almoxatone has been shown to have a beneficial effect on Parkinson's disease and other types of movement disorders. This drug also has a strong inhibitory effect on inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and ulcerative colitis, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of cytokines such as TNF-α. In vitro assays have demonstrated that this drug does not cause damage to dopamine neurons in the striatum.
