6-Amino-3-methyluracil is a synthetic compound that is used as an impurity in the synthesis of alogliptin. It is also used as a catalyst for the manufacture of aminomethylbenzene, which is a target product. 6-Amino-3-methyluracil can be extracted by filtration and has been shown to be trackable in the rat urine. The synthesis method of 6-amino-3-methyluracil involves chloride and alkylation reactions. This product's spectrum includes peaks at m/z 187, 196, 231, 238, 315 and 334.
