Descrição:Acid Brown 58 is a synthetic dye that is used for the quantification of skin surface tannins, or natural phenols. It reacts with aldehydes in the presence of iron and ammonia to produce a brown-black colour. Acid Brown 58 has been used to detect synthetic substances such as styryl, which are present in some variants of heroin. This dye also reacts with biological targets such as proteins and nucleic acids, and can be used as an indicator for substance abuse.
