N-alpha-Acetyl-L-Histidine·H2O is an organic compound that can be synthesized from the reaction of nitrophenyl and histidine. It is a cationic polymer with high molecular weight, which is sensitive to pH. This compound has been shown to have cell toxicity, as well as being able to bind and alter DNA conformation. N-alpha-Acetyl-L-Histidine·H2O can be used in calibration and monitoring methods due to its sensitivity to ammonium salt and alkylation.
