3-Amino-N,N-dimethylbenzylamine is a chemical compound that is synthesized and has antimicrobial effects. It is an inhibitor of the enzyme diamino oxidase, which plays a key role in the synthesis of catecholamines. The inhibitory activity of 3-amino-N,N-dimethylbenzylamine on diamino oxidase was found to be comparable to that of antidepressant agents such as sodium carbonate and profile. 3-Amino-N,N-dimethylbenzylamine also has anti tumor activity and can be screened for its cytotoxicity against cancer cells by using dimethylformamide (DMF) and isomeric compounds.
