Ammonium hexachloroiridate(IV) is a chemical compound with a basic structure of HXO. It is an iridium-based catalyst that can be used in the oxidation of hydrochloric acid to produce hydrogen chloride gas. Ammonium hexachloroiridate(IV) has been shown to have high resistance to hydrochloric acid and other chemicals, which makes it suitable as an organometallic catalyst. This compound also has a high resistance to light emission, making it suitable for use in plasma mass spectrometry. Ammonium hexachloroiridate(IV) has been found to be capable of catalyzing the transformation of lymphocytes into antibody-producing cells, which indicates its potential as a protein synthesis catalyst.
