- RAMP
(R)-(+)-1-Amino-2-(methoxymethyl)pyrrolidine (RMP) is a natriuretic peptide that has been shown to have significant biological activity. RMP levels are correlated with the level of atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP), which is released from the heart in response to increased intracardiac pressure. This peptide binds to receptors in the brain and kidney, resulting in the release of renin from the kidneys and subsequent activation of ACE, which leads to an increase in blood pressure. RMP also stimulates the secretion of ANP, which can be used as a marker for RMP bioactivity. It has been shown that RMP can be used as an analog for ANP, as it possesses similar properties and functions.
