4-Amino-3,5-dimethylisoxazole is a monomeric, monodentate ligand that binds to metal ions with octahedral geometry. It has been shown to be a powerful catalyst for the polymerization of ethylene oxide and can also be used in the production of polyurethane. This compound is also used as a magnetic material and exhibits electronic properties. 4-Amino-3,5-dimethylisoxazole has been extensively studied with spectroscopic techniques and is known to have stereochemical properties. The molecule has an overall tetrahedral shape due to its four amine groups and three methyl groups.
