Alytesin is a pharmaceutical drug used to treat cancer and inflammatory diseases. It is a β-amino acid that binds to receptors on the cell membrane, which leads to changes in cellular metabolism. Alytesin has been shown to inhibit the growth of Stenotrophomonas maltophilia, an opportunistic pathogen that can cause infections in immunocompromised patients.
