2-Amino-7-fluoro-9H-fluoren-9-ol is a metabolite of fluoxetine that has been shown to have a number of functionalities, including lipase and metal cations resistance. It is formed by the enolate intermediate in the hydrolysis of fluoxetine by lipase. The formation of 2-amino-7-fluoro-9H-fluoren-9-ol is increased in resistant cultivars of lettuce and chickpea. The compound also has kinetic activity against lipases and sulfoxide reductases. 2Amino 7Fluoro 9H Fluoren 9Ole can be used as an analytical reagent for carbonyl group detection, due to its ability to react with acetonitrile. Studies have shown that 2Amino 7Fluoro 9H Fluoren 9Ole inhibits the growth of bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Salmonella
