4-Amino-2,3,5,6-Tetrafluoro-Benzonitrile is a synthetic compound that is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of medicines. It has been shown to react with sulfuric acid solution to form a salt of 4-amino-2,3,5,6-tetrafluoro-benzoic acid. This compound has been reported to be an analog of the alkenyl blocker 4-aminobenzenesulfonic acid and it can be hydrolyzed to the chloride or decarboxylated to give a cyclic amide. 4-Amino-2,3,5,6-Tetrafluoro-Benzonitrile also forms a channel in corrosion experiments. This channel blocker has been shown to inhibit the production of reactive oxygen species by preventing the oxidation of chloride ions.
