Descrição:
1-(2,4-Dimethylphenyl)ethanol is a diterpene found in the plant species Boswellia serrata. It has been shown to have acetylcholinesterase and antioxidant activity. It is a precursor in the biosynthesis of terpineol, which is an alcohol with a strong odor. The yield of 1-(2,4-dimethylphenyl)ethanol can be increased by the use of kinetic resolution or esterification. It also has been shown to inhibit acetylcholinesterase and to have antioxidant activity.
