Descrição:
2-(Phenylmethylene)butanedioic acid is a chiral, homochiral compound. It is a diethyl succinate monoamide that has been shown to have hypoglycemic activity in rats. This product can be synthesized by the hydroboration of an alkene with palladium and tetralin in the presence of catalytic amounts of triethylamine. The reaction is shown in the attached scheme.
