2-Benzylidenecyclohexanone is a dithiocarbamic compound. It is reduced to the corresponding amine by catalytic hydrogenation. This reaction proceeds via an allylic amination reaction and the formation of a nitro group. The reduction products are 2-benzylidene cyclohexanamine and 3,5-dimethylaniline.
