Benzimidazole-5-carboxylic acid is a monoclonal antibody that binds to the amide group of an amino acid. It has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of cell growth in cervical cancer cells and rat liver microsomes. It also showed inhibitory activity against fatty acid and nucleotide synthesis. Benzimidazole-5-carboxylic acid is a benzimidazole compound that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects in animal models and also inhibits the replication of HIV. This drug can inhibit the replication of influenza A virus in vitro and may be useful as an antiviral agent for treatment of influenza A infection.
