1-Tert-Butyl-6-Fluoro-7-(3-Methylpiperazin-1-Yl)-4-Oxo-1,8-Naphthyridine 3 Carboxylic Acid (TBFO) is a potent anti tuberculosis drug that has been modified to improve its efficacy. TBFO inhibits the growth of bacteria by binding to DNA and preventing transcription and replication. TBFO has shown promising results in clinical studies involving patients with latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI). TBFO has also undergone validation and optimization studies for its use as an antibacterial agent. TBFO’s mechanism of action is similar to other drugs in the fluoroquinolone family, but it has not been shown to have carcinogenic or developmental effects.
