1-[2-[Bis[4-(Trifluoromethyl)phenyl]methoxy]ethyl]-5,6-dihydro-1H-imidazo[4,5-c][1,2,4]triazine (ADX10059) is a modulator of the glutamate receptor that has been studied in patients with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. ADX10059 has been found to be safe and effective in treating both disorders. The efficacy of ADX10059 was evaluated in two clinical trials for the treatment of bipolar disorder. In the first study, ADX10059 was found to significantly reduce manic symptoms as compared to placebo. The second study showed that ADX10059 significantly reduced depressive symptoms when added to lithium or valproate therapy.
