Descrição:
5-Bromothiophene-2-carbohydrazide is an oxychloride compound with antimicrobial activity. It has been shown to stabilize crystals of the molecule and to have a crystal structure that is similar to phosphorus oxychloride. Elemental analysis revealed that 5-bromothiophene-2-carbohydrazide contains only carbon, hydrogen, and bromine, which are all necessary for the antibacterial activity of this compound. The antibacterial properties of 5-bromothiophene-2-carbohydrazide have been tested against fungi and plasmodium, which are parasites responsible for malaria. This compound was found to be active against both fungi and plasmodium at lower concentrations than other compounds in its class.
