4-(1H-Benzimidazol-2-yl)-1,3-thiazol-2-amine is a diaminoethane analog of isothiocyanate. It inhibits cancerous cell growth by blocking the synthesis of nucleic acids and proteins, causing DNA to fragment and cells to die. 4-(1H-Benzimidazol-2-yl)-1,3-thiazol-2-amine has been shown to be cytotoxic in animal studies against human leukemic cells and murine leukemia cells. This compound also has anticancer activity against various types of cancerous cells in vitro.
