4-Bromocinnamic acid is a plant metabolite that is found in the leaves of plants belonging to the family Capparaceae. It can be extracted from these leaves using methanol as a solvent and then purified by column chromatography. 4-Bromocinnamic acid has been shown to have antitumor properties and has been studied in a model system for prostate cancer cells.
