Benzothiazole-2-carboxylic acid amide is a benzothiazole compound that is used as an inhibitor of the growth of cancer cells. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of nitro, growth factor, and control agents, which are important for the development of tumors. Benzothiazole-2-carboxylic acid amide also has anti-inflammatory effects and can be used for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease. The mechanism by which this drug inhibits tumor cell proliferation is not well understood, but it may involve its ability to inhibit epidermal growth factor (EGF) and/or epidermal growth.
