1,3-Bis(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)-2-imidazolidinylidene]dichloro-(3-phenyl-1H-inden-1-ylidene)(tricyclohexylphosphine)ruthenium(II) is a ruthenium complex that inhibits the ns3 protease of HIV, as well as other proteases. It has been shown to be active against many different viruses. The inhibition of the enzyme activity by this compound results in a decreased production of viral proteins and thus reduced virus replication. 1,3-Bis(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)-2-imidazolidinylidene]dichloro-(3-phenyl-1H-inden-1-ylidene)(tricyclohexylphosphine)ruthenium(II) is synthesized
