Informação sobre produto
- Benzyl 3-hydroxyphenyl ether
- 3-(Benzyloxy)Phenol
The compound 3-(Benzyloxy)phenol is a diphenyl ether that exhibits cell membrane permeability. It has potential use as an antimicrobial agent due to its ability to bind to the fatty acid component of the cell membrane and disrupt the integrity of the lipid bilayer. 3-(Benzyloxy)phenol is also a good candidate for catalysis due to its high activation energy, which makes it easy to react with other compounds. The synthesis of 3-(Benzyloxy)phenol can be achieved through a number of different methods, including fluorination or chlorination reactions. This compound consists of three isomers that differ in their arrangement around the phenolic ring; however, all three are equally biologically active. In addition, 3-(Benzyloxy)phenol binds specifically to cells, which may be due to its structural similarity to cyanate.
