1-Boc-5-bromo-3-iodo-indole is a potent inhibitor of protein kinases. It belongs to the class of indole derivatives and has a structure that is based on the chemical scaffold of the natural product, indolocarbazole. 1-Boc-5-bromo-3-iodo-indole potently inhibits pim1, a protein kinase involved in T cell development, and it also inhibits other protein kinases such as CDK2. This inhibitor is a member of an indole family of protein kinase inhibitors that includes compounds like PD184352, which inhibit EGFR and PD180974, which inhibits VEGFR2.
