Descrição:Bensulfuron-methyl is a herbicide that inhibits the production of chlorophyll and is used to control weeds. It has been shown to be highly toxic to bacteria, with sublethal doses causing cell lysis. Bensulfuron-methyl also inhibits the activity of a number of bacterial enzymes, including p450, which may lead to the development of high levels of resistance in some species. The effects on bacterial growth are dependent on the concentration and duration of exposure.
