The antiproliferative effects of 2-Benzyloxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde were found to be due to its ability to bind to dna and inhibit the enzyme activity of pyrazine-2-carboxylic acid, leading to a decrease in the production of proteins vital for cell division. 2-Benzyloxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde has been shown to have anticancer activity against colorectal cancer cells and may serve as a lead compound for future drug development.
